Hurricane Isaac has caused a delay in New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu's annual presentation of a proposed city budget.
The mayor's office said Thursday that Landrieu has signed an executive order allowing for a budget presentation two weeks later than the administration has done in the previous two years.
Landrieu requested that the City Council hold a special meeting on Monday, Oct. 29, for the administration's presentation of the 2013 proposed operating and capital budgets. That date, while later than usual, will still meet city charter requirements, according to a Landrieu news release.
Landrieu's office said dealing with Isaac caused delays in the formulating of the budget, as well as community outreach meetings aimed at gathering public opinion on budget priorities.
