Inside The Arts: NOLA Cache In National Black History Museum, Amistad Milestone, Pippin'

This week on Inside the Arts, two celebrations of African American History. The long awaited Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture opened over the weekend  in Washington D. C.  We caught up with two New Orleanians who were among a select group invited for a sneak peek before the celebrated opening.

 
 Then, a little closer to home, the Amistad Research Center which houses historically important works documenting African American culture celebrates a golden anniversary with an evening of music and literary readings.
 
And, we round out with the Tony Award winning musical Pippin' as Le Petit Theatre continues its 100th Anniversary season.
 
Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.
