Inside The Arts: Jazz Vocalist Zardis Nichols, Clarence Laughlin Exhibit, Latin Music All Stars

Zardis Nichols, jazz vocalist

This week on Inside the Arts, jazz vocalist Zardis Nichols makes her hometown concert debut in Zardis: Outta My Mind at the Peoples Health New Orleans Jazz Market.  Nichols is the grand-niece of legendary New Orleans bassist Chester Zardis and is married to acclaimed actor Lance Nichols.

Then, in the French Quarter the Historic New Orleans Collection is creating a buzz around the work of an acclaimed Louisiana surrealist photographer in the exhibit Clarence John Laughlin and His Contemporaries: A Picture and a Thousand Words.  We talk with exhibit co-curator John Lawrence.

And, multi-disciplinary artist José Torres-Tama is shaking it up in the Marigny with a Latin Music All-Stars Concert to benefit his mobile Taco Truck Theater Project which documents the immigrant experience in America.

Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.
