Inside The Arts: French Quarter Festival, Theater of War, Arthur Kern Retrospective/Debut At Ogden

Ogden Museum of Southern Art
Arthur Kern, Self-Portrait, Molded polyester resin, 1969

This week on Inside the Arts, French Quarter Festival kicks off festivities highlighting Louisiana music, food, art and special events.

Then, we experience Theater of War at Tulane.  The unique presentation uses readings from Greek plays to spark conversations about the challenges faced by service members, veterans, their families, caregivers and communities.

And, we round out with an exploration of Arthur Kern: The Surreal World of a Reclusive Sculptor, on view at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. We talk with retired Tulane art professor Arthur Kern and guest curator John Berendt, N.Y. Times bestselling author of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.
