Inside The Arts: Classical Arts Awards, Ludlam's Camille And Sinkholes — Buried Alive

Patti Perret

This week on Inside the Arts, the 2015 Tribute to the Classical Arts Awards will honor the best in classical music, opera and dance at its annual luncheon benefiting the Foundation for Entertainment, Development and Education. We talk with this year's Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Diane Carney, artistic director of Ballet Hysell.

Then, art meets science as the PBS documentary series NOVA premieres Sinkholes — Buried Alive. The film explores dramatic ground collapses around the globe, including Louisiana's Bayou Corne sinkhole.

And, we round out with Charles Ludlam's classic cross-dressing comedy, Camille, presented by The NOLA project.

Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.

"This is NPR's Morning Edition, at 89.9 WWNO. Good Morning, I'm Diane Mack."
