Inside The Arts: Bringing Eric Waters Home, Robin Hood Transforms Sculpture Garden, Limón Dance

Eric Waters

This week on Inside the Arts, internationally acclaimed photographer Eric Waters continues his effort to return to New Orleans. Waters, known for documenting the city's jazz musicians and African American culture, lost his home and the majority of his life's work to Hurricane Katrina. He currently lives in Atlanta.  A benefit spearheaded by guitarist Detroit Brooks brings a who's who list of artists together to return Waters home.

Then, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden at the New Orleans Museum of Art is transformed into Sherwood Forest as Robin Hood: Thief, Brigand opens.  It's an original take on a classic story presented by the award-winning NOLA Project and NOMA.

And, we round out with the legendary Limón Dance Company presented by the New Orleans Ballet Association. The local performance kicks off the company's 70th Anniversary Season and pays tribute to New Orleans on the 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina with the monumental, NOBA-sponsored revival of Limón's masterwork Missa Brevis.

Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.
