How To Collect 4,000 Artworks In Less Than Five Months

The University Medical Center in New Orleans is a mammoth-sized hospital with more than 2 million square feet of constructed space. And before Stacy Serro arrived, the walls were merely painted drywall.

To liven up the place, she and a small team went on a state-wide hunt for local art, collecting enough pieces to display every 10 feet in the hospital. The collection was amassed by artists, interior designers, and collectors who were required to gather more than 50 pieces a week.

Each floor and building within the University Medical Center has a variation on the exhibit’s main theme, Louisiana: The Melting Pot. To read more about the exhibit, visit Nolavie.com.
