The Good Side of the Hurricane

Grant Morris
/
It's New Orleans
Robert Fogarty, Peter Ricchiuti, Blake Haney and Pike Barkerding.

Living on the brink of annual annihilation has bred a number of fascinating businesses founded by exceptional people who are inspired by the spirit of our city.

Out of Hurricane Katrina, Blake Haney founded Dirty Coast, Robert Fogarty founded Evacuteer and Dear World, and Pike Barkerding founded Bideo.com. In the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac, these hurricane entrepreneurs chart where their businesses are today, and where we are as a city.

Peter Ricchiuti is the finance professor you wish you had back in college! His insight and humor have twice made him the top professor at Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business. After a successful career on Wall Street, Ricchiuti served for five years as Assistant State Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer for the State of Louisiana. There he skillfully managed the State's $3 billion investment portfolio.
