Early voting for the Dec. 6 runoff election begins this Saturday, Nov. 22, and continues through Saturday, Nov. 29.

Early voting locations will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. However, polling locations will be closed Sunday, Nov. 23, and will also be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler's office is urging people to vote early.

“This is always a busy time of year with families traveling and time off of work, but it’s important not to forget about the December 6 election, especially with the congressional runoffs as well as many important local races," Schedler was quoted as saying in a press release. "By casting your ballot early, you can vote on your own schedule when it’s most convenient. Don’t make excuses. Go vote!”

A complete list of early voting locations by parish can be found on the La. Secretary of State's website.

Ballot information and election day polling places can be found at GeauxVote.com, or by calling 225-922-0900.
