Satchmo Summer Fest includes screenings of Louis Armstrong film and TV clips, called "Cinematic Satch," playing August 1-3 at the US Mint. More on that and the full festival schedule right here.

Oui, oui. The Film Society of New Orleans hosts its annual French Film Festival August 1-7 at the Prytania Theater, Uptown.

For those looking to get experience working in film, in that quintessential entry level film set job as a production assistant, NOVAC and the City of New Orleans host a P.A. Boot Camp at Ashe Cultural Center, August 23-24.

Henry Griffin is Artist in Residence at the University of New Orleans Department of Film, Theater and Communications Arts. He joins us on WWNO each month to talk film, film events, and all things cinematic in and around New Orleans.
