New Orleans, La. – BP says pressure readings on cement pumped into the well from the containment cap on top show the seal is holding. Drilling the last 100 feet is being done in 30-foot segments. Engineers will review progress in the start-and-stop process for the line that's about four feet parallel to the broken well. Mud will be pumped into the bottom, followed by cement. The government has insisted that the well be cemented from the top and bottom before it's considered dead. The whole process could take days or weeks to finish.
