After 52 years in the shipyard industry, Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., Vice President Larry Vauclin is calling it quits.
Vauclin, vice president for the company's central division, is retiring effective Sept. 21.
Bollinger Executive Vice President Ben Bordelon announced Vauclin's retirement Monday. He says Vauclin has been a critical part of the company's growth and a mentor to many in the industry over the length of his career, which started in 1960 with Main Iron Works in Houma.
Vauclin began working at Bollinger in 1996, serving as vice president and general manager of the Larose facility. Ten years later, he was promoted to his current post, which covers three of Bollinger's central Louisiana repair and conversion facilities.
