Jason heads up WWNO's sports desk, is the point person for digital initiatives and social media outreach, and is a spot news and features reporter during major events.

Jason, a native of New York (but a long-time resident of the Crescent City), has an extensive background in traditional, digital and social media, and the intersections between them.

New Orleans Saints Drop Game To NY Jets, 26-20

The New Orleans Saints gave up their second loss of the season Sunday afternoon, losing at the Meadowlands to the New York Jets, 26-20.

It was a game punctuated by a weak offensive line, questionable play calling and an inability for Rob Ryan’s defense to adjust to the Jets’ run game.

Ryan is now 0-5 in his NFL career versus his twin brother Rex, the coach of the Jets.

The New Orleans Pelicans picked up their first win of the season Saturday night with a 105-84 drubbing of the Charlotte Bobcats.

In a sharp turnaround from the previous two games this season — which featured Hornets-esque defensive efforts in those losing efforts, especially in the second half — the Pelicans maintained solid defensive rotations and hung on to the big lead they built early.

Early Voting Begins Saturday

Early voting begins Saturday, Nov. 2 for the election to be held on Nov. 16.

There will be elections in 39 parishes, according to the reminder sent out by La. Secretary of State Tom Schedler's office. Early voting will continue through Saturday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily (excluding Sunday, Nov. 3).

New Orleans Pelicans Open Season With 95-90 Loss To Pacers

The New Orleans Pelicans came out strong against the visiting Indiana Pacers, opening a revamped New Orleans Arena for their first regular season game and introducing mascot Pierre the Pelican to a social media uproar.

But the team couldn’t ride the excitement through the half. The Pacers, coming off the first of a back-to-back and without injured F/G Danny Granger, crawled their way back from a 16-point second quarter deficit to take the win, 95-90.

Pelicans Forward Ryan Anderson Out With Toe Injury

New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson will be out for 1-3 weeks with a chip fracture in his toe, the team announced before the season-opener Wednesday.

Anderson suffered a chip fracture in the second toe of his right foot, the team said. Doctors examined Anderson and discovered the problem after he experienced discomfort during practice.

Anderson averaged 16.16 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.12 assists in 81 games last season.

New Orleans Police Hunting For Person Of Interest Allegedly Practicing Medicine Without A License

The New Orleans Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating Armani Nicole Davenport, an entertainer described by police as a "person of interest" in an investigation into the negligent injuring of another person, and the practice of medicine without a license.

Police also say Davenport is said to administer "silicone" injections to clients as she travels throughout the southern United States on the gay pageant circuit.
