Many of you awake to that greeting each morning as Diane brings you the day's news as WWNO's host for NPR's Morning Edition. Diane is a native New Orleanian with a background in television broadcast journalism. She is a graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications.

Diane has worked in various markets around the state. She started at KATC-TV in Lafayette as reporter and morning news anchor. Diane moved back home to New Orleans in 1982 where she joined the news staff of WDSU-TV as a general assignment reporter. In 1993, Diane joined WWNO's staff, hosting news programs, a classical music show, and the "Friends of Music" concert series. She is also an award-winning producer for the station's cultural arts radio feature Inside the Arts.

"InstrumentHead" Pops Up in French Quarter Gallery Tonight

InstrumentHead — a surrealist portrait series by acclaimed photographer Michael Weintrob — opens tonight in connection with the Frenchmen Art Market.

The pop-up exhibit captures the identities of musical legends without showing their faces.

The pop up gallery opens April 25  with live music by Papa Mali & Friends, featuring Eric McFadden, Rob Mercurio, Eric Bolivar, Nigel Hall and DJ Logic.

2121 Chartres Street, 7 p.m.

The exhibit runs through May 5.

Martha Redbone Headlines Fais Do Do Stage at Jazz Fest 2013

Martha Redbone and her Roots Project Band return to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival this year to perform songs from her internationally acclaimed new CD, The Garden of Love — Songs of William Blake.

The CD is a switch for Redbone, as the indie-soul diva returns to the music of her childhood, growing up in the hills of Kentucky.

Martha Redbone performs Sunday, April 28 at the Sheraton New Orleans Fais Do Do stage at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival at 1:30 p.m.

The birthday celebration for composer J. S. Bach starts Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m. and runs non-stop until Saturday April 6 at midnight.
