NOAA, Academics To Study Subsea Oil In Gulf

New Orleans, La. – NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco says with less oil visible on the surface and on shore, scientists are focusing on oil suspended in the water column and on the floor of the Gulf.

"There is oil that is being observed on the sediment, in the sediment on the seafloor surface. Much of the ongoing monitoring is designed to understand better where that is, what impact it may be having."

Sci-Fi Latino Noir "Aliens" Explores Immigration Issues

New Orleans, La. – Award winning performance artist Jose Torres Tama satirizes Latinos as 'extraterrestrials'in his latest work - Aliens, Immigrants and Other Evildoers, which explores the fears raging against Latinos and immigrants in the United States.
Aliens opens tonight at the Ashe Cultural Arts Center, 8PM...thru Sunday. It then moves to the Shadowbox Theater for an extended run thru October 10.
