Louisiana Eats! is WWNO’s new weekly program about food, hosted by New Orleans food activist Poppy Tooker. Louisiana Eats! is a radio show for people who cook and people who love to eat well—all with a Louisiana point of view and Poppy’s distinctive Louisiana voice. The new show airs on Wednesday nights, 6:30pm – 7:00pm CT, and will be repeated on Saturdays 12:00n – 12:30pm CT, after the popular national food program, The Splendid Table. In each program listeners join Poppy as she meets people who produce, cook, and eat the foods we enjoy and treasure—exploring kitchens and stores, farms and waterways where favorite foods are produced and prepared. And because Louisianans love all kinds of food, Poppy won’t limit herself to shrimp creole and hot sauce! Support for Louisiana Eats! comes from Zatarain’s, with additional support from Nottoway Plantation, the Wine Institute of New Orleans, Dickie Brennan’s Family of Restaurants, Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, and Leidenheimer Baking Company. Our media partner is Louisiana Cookin' magazine. Want to know more?
