Any and all files pertaining to WWNO employment search activities prior to August 29, 2005 were kept at the UNO office in New Orleans, located at Leon C. Simon and Franklin on the East Campus of the University of New Orleans. Like the rest of New Orleans and particularly the Lakefront neighborhood of UNO, these facilities were significantly affected by Hurricane Katrina. As of February 1, 2007 the building containing the employment records remains off limits due damage and mold concerns. WWNO believes that many of these files were destroyed by floodwaters, mold or both.

Vacancies:
1. WWNO had one full-time vacancy during this reporting period for the position of Announcer/Producer. WWNO received seven applications from a national search. Two candidates were interviewed. That position was filled on April 3, 2006.

WWNO also filled a contract position of Underwriting Sales Manager in April, 2006. WWNO received three applications from a national search. Three interviews were arranged, one candidate was a no-show, two interviews were conducted.

Full Time Recruitment:
2. The recruitment sources used for both positions were the New Orleans Times-Picayune, 3800 Howard Ave. New Orleans, LA 70125. The contact was the classified ads department. WWNO placed total market coverage package ads that ran from Feb. 12 to Feb. 19, 2006. Between February and March of 2006, WWNO used the employment section of www.wwno.org web site, distributed the job posting on the PUBRADIO and PRADO listserves, placed the ads on the Development Exchange web site at www.deiworksite.org, the Public Radio Program Directors web site at www.prpd.org, and the Association of Music Personnel in Public Radio web site at www.amppr.org. Announcements were sent via e-mail to local radio stations in the New Orleans market including: WNOE, KMEZ, KLRZ, Rockin Country 106.7, C 107.5, and MC Media, LLC. In most cases the contact was either the HR e-mail or “info” e-mail address. The posting for underwriting sales and announcer/producer appeared on the WWNO web site 1/31/06.

Of the seven EEO cards that were mailed to candidates for the full time announcer producer position only one card was returned. It was from a white female, no disability, non-veteran who saw the vacancy in the New Orleans Times Picayune.
