Injured Anthony Davis Will Miss Remainder Of Season

New Orleans Hornets rookie forward Anthony Davis will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury suffered during the April 10 game against the Sacramento Kings, the team reported yesterday.

Davis suffered a sprained Medial Collateral Ligament and bone bruise in his left knee after colliding with Sacramento guard Marcus Thornton with 5:45 to play in the game. He underwent an MRI yesterday, which revealed no additional structural damage.

Giant-Killing Louisville Women Look To Keep Charmed Run Alive

Tonight, there's a chance for a rare double in NCAA Division I college basketball.

As we reported earlier, if the University of Louisville scores a victory in the women's championship game, it will be only the second school to capture both the men's and women's titles in the same year.

Redbirds Peck Zephyrs Apart, 18-2

Jamie Romak pounded three home runs as the Memphis Redbirds defeated the Zephyrs 18-3 on Monday night at Autozone Park in Memphis.

The Redbirds offense racked up 18 hits and five home runs. Romak tied a Memphis franchise record with three home runs in the game, including a solo shot in the third inning, a two run shot in the fifth and a three run blast in the seventh. He went three for five with six runs batted in.

Memphis added two more home runs, a solo shot by Rob Johnson and a three run home run by Chad Huffman.

Louisville Basketball Has A Rare Chance At A Double

In New Orleans on Sunday, the women from Louisville (in red) defeated California to reach the championship game against Connecticut on Tuesday.

Around midnight ET Monday, we should know whether something that's only happened once might happen again.

If the University of Louisville's men win the Division I basketball championship — they play Michigan in a game set to start at 9:23 p.m. ET on CBS TV — then there's a chance that this year both the men's and women's trophies will go to the same school.

Leading Ladies: Connecticut, Louisville Set For Championship

Connecticut has been to the women's NCAA championship round twice in the last five years. In 2009, they were up against Louisville.

And here we are again. (Or, we will be on Tuesday.)

Connecticut beat Notre Dame 83-65 in the Final Four round Sunday night, clinching its ride to the title game. Earlier, Louisville rallied a comeback against California, ending at 64-57.

Hornets Send Suns To Record 7th Straight Home Loss

Anthony Davis scored 20 points, Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson added 17 apiece and the New Orleans Hornets handed the Phoenix Suns their franchise-record seventh consecutive home loss, 95-92 on Sunday night.

Luis Scola scored 17 for the Suns, losers of a season-worst nine straight overall and 15 of their last 17. Markieff Morris and Jared Dudley scored 15 apiece for Phoenix.
