"This is NPR's Morning Edition, at 89.9 WWNO. Good Morning, I'm Diane Mack."

Many of you awake to that greeting each morning as Diane brings you the day's news as WWNO's host for NPR's Morning Edition. Diane is a native New Orleanian with a background in television broadcast journalism. She is a graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications.

Diane has worked in various markets around the state. She started at KATC-TV in Lafayette as reporter and morning news anchor. Diane moved back home to New Orleans in 1982 where she joined the news staff of WDSU-TV as a general assignment reporter. In 1993, Diane joined WWNO's staff, hosting news programs, a classical music show, and the "Friends of Music" concert series. She is also an award-winning producer for the station's cultural arts radio feature Inside the Arts.

Harpists Jazz Audiences with Two Concerts

It is a weekend for Jazz harp. The New Orleans Chapter of the American Harp Society is hosting its first Jazz and Pop harp weekend at the University of New Orleans, helping students from around the country improve their Jazz harp skills.  Professional members of the local harp society and guest artists will perform in two public concerts.

Creole Tomatoes and Cajun-Zydeco Music Highlight Weekend Festivals

Red, ripe Creole tomatoes and two-steppin' dance music from down the bayou are good reasons to head to the French Quarter this weekend.

The 26th Annual French Market Creole Tomato Festival and the 6th Annual Jazz and Heritage Foundation's Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival kick off on Saturday, and we go Inside the Arts for a sneak peek.

The GooNOLAs Bring British Humor With a Local Twist

It is an invasion of British humor with a local twist, as a popular 1950's comedy show makes a comeback in the Metro area. We go Inside the Arts for a sneak peek at the GooNOLAs, a live radio slapstick-comedy stage production, reminiscent of the old Goon Show.

New Festival Celebrates Chamber Music in New Orleans

New Orleans is now home to the brand-new Birdfoot Chamber Music Festival, which is garnering attention from musicians across the globe.

We go Inside the Arts as three days of concerts kick off this inaugural fest, with performances tonight at the Old U.S. Mint in the French Quarter.

Southern Rep Theater Closes Season with Shirley Valentine

New Orleans veteran actor Ricky Graham takes on a one woman comedy as Southern Rep Theater presents Willy Russell's one character play - Shirley Valentine.  We go Inside the Arts as Graham morphs into a middle aged housewife who is stuck in a rut and wants to live again.

Performances run thru May 27th at the Contemporary Arts Center, 900 Camp Street.

Vocalist Ingrid Lucia has Jazz Fest Lagniappe

The second weekend of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, presented by Shell, is here.  Four days of back-to-back music in a variety of genres will fill the air at the Fair Grounds.  We go Inside the Arts for conversation with native daughter and jazz vocalist Ingrid Lucia, who performs Friday, May 4, on the Lagniappe Stage. Lucia has just produced a new CD aimed at helping local female vocalists reach new markets.

Complexions Contemporary Ballet Returns to New Orleans
